Our Curriculum

At Bright Stars, we understand that every child is unique and develops at their own pace. That's why our curriculum is designed to be flexible and adaptable, allowing each child to learn and grow in the way that works best for them. Our experienced teachers use a variety of teaching methods, including play-based learning, hands-on activities, and project-based learning to ensure that every child is challenged and engaged.

Our curriculum is designed to foster the development of key skills in areas such as language, math, science, and social studies. We also place a strong emphasis on developing emotional intelligence and social skills, as we believe that these are essential for children to succeed in the future.

We understand that children learn best when they are having fun and we strive to create a fun and engaging environment where children can learn and grow. We believe in a child-centered approach and allow children to take ownership of their learning journey. Our curriculum is designed to support and inspire children as they explore and discover the world around them.

We also understand the importance of family involvement in a child's development, that's why we keep open communication with our parents, keeping them updated on their child's development and progress and welcome their input and participation in their child's education.

Learning Beyond Curriculum

We are excited to introduce you to our early learning curriculum from Learning Beyond Paper, Inc. Learning Beyond (LB) Curriculum is a research-based, classroom-tested curriculum for infants to Pre-K 4. As a social-constructivist curriculum, LB is designed to create learning opportunities for children through peer-based activities and intentional interactions with their teachers.

At Bright Stars, LB curriculum complements the in-house developed curriculum. In your daily activity reports, LB based activities will have the "LBP - "prefix in the activity title.

Our teachers will have access to the full curriculum from tablets and phones, providing real-time support for our learners, opportunities for differentiated instruction, and social-emotional development.

LB also includes a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) focus throughout, and @HomeConnections Newsletters to keep you informed on everything your children are learning.

INFANTS

During their first 12 months, infants learn, change, and grow quickly. Learning Beyond includes engaging activities for babies, and what to expect from infants of different developmental levels as they are exposed to interactions with relationships at the heart of their learning and growth.

YOUNGER TODDLERS

The ages of 12 to 24 months brings about a flurry of activity, movement, language, and initial steps of independence. Learning Beyond focuses on building practical skills, language, and social- emotional learning, all with relationship-focused teaching and care at the heart.

OLDER TODDLERS

"I'm 2 now!" From 24 to 36 months, older toddlers are learning from their behaviors and choices, trying lots of new things, getting messy, and learning how to clean up. Learning Beyond focuses on scaffolding children's learning and interactions, giving children choices to empower them.

PRESCHOOL

Three-year-old's are able to figure out unique ways to do something, and want to find out why - a lot! Learning Beyond's use of open ended questions in daily activities heightens curiousity and problem solving skills at this stage, providing opportunities for active engagement as trusted learners.

Pre-Kindergarten.png

PRE-KINDERGARTEN

Four-year-olds continue to build upon skills they learned in preschool, building layers of learning and knowledge through practice and novel opportunities. Children's development of language grows into an understanding of early reading and writing in preparation for kindergarten. Through active learning and scaffolding, pre-kindergartners can build confidence and thrive in a predictable classroom environment.
